THE HISTORY OF MAISON GILLARDEAU

Founded in 1898 by Henri Gillardeau in the Marennes-Oléron basin, Maison Gillardeau is renowned for the exceptional quality of its oysters, cultivated through a centuries-old family commitment.

In response to growing demand, the company opened new oyster beds in 2004 and launched innovative initiatives such as laser-engraving its oysters to combat counterfeiting.

Recent developments include the launch of “La Marcelle”, a modern food truck, and the opening of “La Cabanajam”, an outlet on the Île de Ré.
